You do not need the app installed, or an account you can still sign in to, to make this request. Ask by phone or by email and we will do it.
How to ask
By email
Write to info@rupantaram.com with the subject Delete my account, and include:
- the mobile number the account signs in with;
- the name of the candidate, and of the centre they attend;
- whether you are the candidate or a parent or guardian.
We reply to confirm before anything is deleted, so that a number alone cannot be used to erase somebody else's record.
By phone, or in person at the centre
Call +91 80870 75149 or +91 98607 75149, or ask at the centre the candidate attends. Registration is made at a centre, and so is deletion.
From inside the app
Open Settings → Delete my account. The app shows you this same request route. It does not delete the account by itself, deliberately: accounts belong to a family and a centre, and a phone left unlocked on a desk should not be able to erase a child's record.
What is deleted
- the account itself, and the ability to sign in with that number;
- the candidate's or guardian's record at the centre — name, date of birth, gender, phone number, email, address and the link between a child and their parent;
- attendance, progress, mentor remarks and any certificates issued;
- anything kept on the handset — habits, streaks and daily reflections — which is removed when the app is uninstalled, since it is stored on the phone and nowhere else.
What is kept, and why
- Fee receipts and accounting records, for the period Indian tax law requires. These are locked to accounting access and are not used for anything else.
- A record that a deletion was requested and carried out, which is what lets us prove it was done.
- Anonymous, non-identifying counts — how many candidates attended a camp — which cannot be traced back to a person.
How long it takes
Deletion is completed within 30 days of a request we have been able to verify. Copies inside encrypted backups are purged within a further 90 days, and those backups are not readable in the meantime.
Deleting the app is not deleting the account. Uninstalling removes what is on the phone, and leaves the record at the centre as it was. Use one of the routes above to remove that as well.
